(AKA some personal anecdotes & fun facts about my life & design. ッ)
Hi again waving_hand My name is Jihyun[1] and I recently graduated UC Berkeley in Digital Media and Psychology. I'm currently cuddled back in my sunny hometown of SoCal and have been traveling, baking matcha cookies, and searching for full-time roles.
As a traditional artist during high school, I barely knew much about design. I first encountered UX in college—and paired with my interests in psychology—I've been in love ever since. Now, I fully believe in the power of a well-made design and am passionate about building meaningful interactions to make our experiences enjoyable and accessible.
1. Pronounced /dʒɪ.hjən/ volume_up
I used to think "good design" meant "pretty." However, this thought shattered the moment I joined a human-centered design consultancy at college.
From solving diverse problem scopes, empathizing with users through interviews, to witnessing the impact of my shipped prototypes, I now recognize that design is a tool to understand, support, and empower.
End-to-end designs
Intentional designs sprout from empathy. Although I don't have a go-to process, I'm a big proponent of insight-driven designs.
Communication, collaboration, & cognizance.
Open communication fosters inclusive collaboration, and these only arise after we're cognizant of ourselves and others.
